XXX Indian Scientific Expedition to Antarctica

Every Antarctic expedition is unique in itself and XXX Indian Scientific Expedition is different as the Phase I Construction of New Indian Research Station is being initiated and First Indian Scientific Expedition to South Pole is launching on First week of November 2010 . A team comprising scientists, engineers, doctors and logistic support personnel are heading for Antarctica in seven batches by two different modes- by air and by ship- based on the operational requirements.  

 

Tuesday, 2ndNovember 2010

The fourth contingent of the XXX Indian Scientific Expedition comprising member of First Indian Scientific Expedition to South Pole, Scientist, Doctor and Logistics persons left Goa on Tuesday, 2nd November 2010. Flew from Cape Town to Antarctica by ALCI flight No. D2 (IL76) on Sunday, 07th November 2010 and reached Maitri on Monday, 08th November 2010.

The second contingent comprising NCAOR Nodal Officer for the Phase I construction of New Indian Research Station at Larsemann Hills, Antarctica and one  logistic personnel from NCAOR, left Goa on Tuesday 19th October 2010 for sailing from Cape Town on MV Ivan Papin to Larsemann Hills  Antarctica.

The first contingent of the XXX Indian Scientific Expedition comprising of Voyage Leader Shri Rajesh Asthana geologists from Geological Survey of India , two logistic personnel of NCAOR and Three from Border Road Organization (BRO) departed from Goa on 14th October 2010 and sailing from Cape Town on MV Ivan Papanin to , Larsemann Hills  Antarctica.
