H'ble minister shri prithviraj chavan visits Himadri
 

A high level delegation led by Shri Prithviraj Chavan, Hon’ble Minister of Earth Sciences and comprising Dr Shailesh Nayak, Secretary MoES, Rasik Ravindra, Director, NCAOR, Goa, Shri Anirudha Kumar, P.S. to HMoES, along with H.E. Mr Banbit Roy, the Indian ambassador to Norway, visited Svalbard, Norway on 6th June 2010 to review scientific activities being carried out in the Arctic region by the Indian scientists from Himadri. H. E. Ms. Tora  Aasland, Minister of Research and Higher Education of Norway along with the Norwegian Ambassador to India and senior officials of the Government of Norway, accompanied the Indian delegation. HMoES also addressed the mammoth congress of more than 2,500 polar scientists gathered at Oslo in connection with IPY science Conference on 8^th June.
