On 25 June 2025, NCPOR welcomed trainee officers from the Long Hydrography Course of the National Institute of Hydrography, Goa.Dr-Avinash Kumar briefed the officers on India’s Polar Programs, emphasizing the critical role of the Arctic and Antarctic in understanding global climate change and teleconnections with the tropics.Dr. Koushick Sen presented achievements of NCPOR’s Hydrothermal Mineralisation Project, showcasing seabed resource studies as new geoscientific frontiers beneath the oceans. Dr. Bijesh C.M. outlined the EEZ Mapping Programme.
